Some if that could be the broad choice of channels in the AppleTv that have Astros content or where the name appears. More specific commands like Watch Astros on DirectTv do not seem to work. Major network names like Fox, Comedy Central and Comedy Central work but some smaller network names like METV have issue. The dev reached out so I did testing and basic commands like Watch CNN on DirectTv do work on the iPad and the AppleTv. I know the Gemini Air has a voice search tool that is more like Xfinity’s remote but so far the use of Siri is lacking.
The single biggest issue my family is already saying is they want to be able to talk to the app using Siri on their iOS devices and the Apple TV. I am so new that this review is on the app even before they installed fiber. I just switched from 20 years on Comcast/xfinity to ATT fiber and DirectTv stream app, largely because the finally have the channel parity, things like the NFL network. This is why they’re needed, to keep greedy companies like this from taking advantage of customers. Hope regulators get involved and break this monopoly up.

Now instead of quietly making the money I was paying monthly for the service, a service I wasn’t even using more than 2-5 days a month, now you guys will make NOTHING. Unchecked Greed is how you lose everything. Now every few months they keep changing the terms and bumping up the price. When I signed up it said we wouldn’t have prices raised at all, you were locked in with your phone plan. I hope everyone cancels over this short sighted nickel and dime tactic they’re doing every few months now. THANKS DIRECTV and keep up the good fight as we know DIRECTV could pay the extra billions and pass the cost down to the customers to compensate but yet DIRECTV does the right thing and goes to fight for us customers. These local networks can be picked up from off air signals but yet still ask for billions of dollars to carry there content. Also, huge kudos to DIRECTV for fighting back with these greedy networks who wants to charge billions of dollars to provide content to us customers when the overall viewer base has dropped and streaming base has increased.

Also, say goodbye to “my tv goes out when it rains” not anymore thanks to Signal Saver, one of the BEST fixes DIRECTV has implemented for Satellite customers, EVER. Now that DIRECTV has spun off from AT&T I have got to say, DIRECTV is hands down the BEST when it comes to Video, from quality of service, customer service, cost, programming, the choice of STREAM or SATELLITE and user interface on both set top box and streaming interface.
Huge improvement overall from where the App was when AT&T had it. Before giving a bad rating how about understanding how the App works first!
